The Outstanding Psychology Students (TOPS) Award: General and Statistics
Every year the Department of Psychology recognizes psychology majors who are enrolled in their last four semesters at OU who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship in psychology and have excelled in research, service, leadership, or the community in the field of psychology. A minimum of 2 cash prizes are awarded each year to recognize these students. One of these awards is the General TOPS Award for the student excelling in more than one of the above criteria. The other award is the Statistics TOPS Award for the student demonstrating superior achievement in the area of statistics.

- Letter of Recommendation Waiver
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 gives students the right to inspect letters of recommendation written on their behalf for an application for financial assistance. Students may waive this right and keep letters of recommendation confidential. This waiver is voluntary and is not a condition of any award. Scholarship committees may place higher value on letters of recommendation that are submitted confidentially.
