Art History Scholarship Application

Currently enrolled students in good standing with the University of Oklahoma School of Visual Arts Art History program are eligible to apply for scholarships via the Art History Scholarship Application.

In order to be eligible for some need-based School of Visual Arts scholarships, eligible students must complete and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

In order to be eligible for some School of Visual Arts, students must be enrolled full-time. The University of Oklahoma classifies full-time enrollment as…

  • Undergraduate students enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Graduate students enrolled in 9 credit hours, or 5 credit hours and have a .5 appointment as a GA or TA.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Do you certify that you are an admitted Art History student?
  2. Attach one typed paper on a topic related to Art History. OU students may submit a paper written for an Art History Class. See Help Text for permitted file type. Your submitted paper must follow a standard citation and formatting style such as; APA, MLA, or Chicago.
  3. Compose a statement on how your education has been and will be financed. Please explain the importance of a scholarship to your financial needs related to your undergraduate or graduate work and your career goals. Address any special circumstances as to why a scholarship might be helpful to you. (Please answer in 300 words or less.)

    Please include any additional information that could help us make financial need-based scholarship decisions, including if you are self-supporting (paying for college without parental or third-party assistance), a first-generation college student, or you are a non-traditional student.
  4. Faculty/ Professional Reference
    School of Visual Arts students are required to obtain a professional reference from a School of Visual Arts Faculty Member. Please provide below the contact information for your reference. References will not be asked to submit a letter.

    Prior to submitting a reference via this application, please ask your reference for approval. Students who submit a reference without approval will not be reviewed for scholarships.
