School of Music & University Ensembles Scholarship Application

The School of Music offers a variety of scholarships that include merit-based and financial-need based awards. They are available to full-time, regularly-enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who are current music majors and working toward a degree in the school. Please complete the School of Music & University Ensembles Scholarship Application to be considered eligible for general scholarships from the School of Music and ensemble groups.

All College of Fine Arts students are also welcome to complete this scholarship application to be considered for ensemble based scholarship awards, regardless of school or major.

In order to be eligible for some School of Music scholarships, students must be enrolled full-time. The School of Music classifies full-time enrollment as…

  • Undergraduate students enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Graduate students enrolled in 9 credit hours, or 5 credit hours and have a .5 appointment as a GA or TA.

  5. This application requires one letter of recommendation. Please provide the name and email address of your reference below and click “Save and Keep Editing” or “Finish and Submit” to generate an email to your recommender. You can check the status of your recommendation by clicking on the “References” tab at the top of the page.

    Your reference will be automatically contacted via email to submit an electronic recommendation on your behalf. The deadline for your reference to submit the letter of recommendation is February 1, 2025. If your recommender does not receive the email, contact scholarships@ou.edu. It is your responsibility to ensure that your recommender receives the email request and submits his/her recommendation prior to the deadline.
  6. Letter of Recommendation Waiver

    The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 gives students the right to inspect letters of recommendation written on their behalf for an application for financial assistance. Students may waive this right and keep letters of recommendation confidential. This waiver is voluntary and is not a condition of any award. Scholarship committees may place higher value on letters of recommendation that are submitted confidentially.
