Department of Political Science Scholarship Application
The Department of Political Science offers a selection of scholarships that include merit-based and financial-need based awards. They are available to full-time, regularly-enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who are current political science students and working toward a degree in the department. Please complete the Department of Political Science Scholarship Application to be considered eligible for general scholarships from the Department of Political Science. Students must have a minimum 3.0 Overall GPA to be considered for scholarship awards.
In order to be eligible for some Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences scholarships, students must be enrolled full-time. The College of Arts and Sciences classifies full-time enrollment as…

- Compose a 400-500-word essay on how you plan to use your Political Science or Public Affairs and Administration degree in five to ten years.
- Provide a detailed statement of your financial need.
- The Mike Youngwirth Public Administration Endowed Scholarship is for full-time students in the Political Science Department that are juniors or seniors, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and are a member of at least one recognized student organization. If you would like to be considered for this award, please upload a letter from the sponsor of your organization indicating your level of involvement. See Help Text for permitted file type.
- The Teresa Ramirez and Richard W. Massa Endowed Scholarship is for full-time students in the department who are U.S. Citizens. Students must be a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in Political Science with at least a 2.25 GPA, and demonstrated financial need. Priority will be given to minority, female, or non-traditional students who are the first generation in their families to attend college.
