Professor Dick Van der Helm Undergraduate Chemistry Scholarship

This award is open to undergraduates, including graduating seniors, with current research activities in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The recipient will receive a scholarship equivalent to a 12-week summer stipend. In addition, the awardee must agree to present the results of their summer research to the department; typically, this is accomplished through a poster presentation at a regularly scheduled departmental event.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemical Biosciences majors
  • Full-time students enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Have an overall GPA of at least 2.75
  • Making satisfactory progress towards a four-year (or shorter) time to graduation
  • Must be in need of supplemental financial assistance, as demonstrated by a FAFSA application and/or financial need statement; applications lacking this component will be considered non-responsive and will not be reviewed.
