J.J. Zuckerman Memorial Chemistry Graduate Scholarship Application

J.J. Zuckerman Memorial Scholarship: Applicants must be Graduate Students in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and meet the following criteria:

  • Excellence in quality and quantity of research accomplishments. Applicants should provide outcomes from current research by submitting a CV listing their GPA and detailing submitted manuscripts, peer-reviewed publications or accepted manuscripts, and presentations including a description of their specific contribution(s) to each item.
  • Excellence in instruction of undergraduates as demonstrated by formal student evaluations, letters from faculty, and other documentation. These documents should be submitted as a single file separate from the CV.
  • Excellence in graduate coursework and progress towards a Ph.D. degree, including successful completion of the General Exam, as detailed in the submitted CV.
  • Excellence in service to the Department, University, and/or graduate student organization(s). Please include these items on the submitted CV, including description(s) of applicant’s involvement.
    For equivalent applicants, preference will be given to students in the organometallic or inorganic fields of chemistry, and then to students from Oklahoma.


Currently enrolled graduate and PhD students in good standing with the University of Oklahoma Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry are eligible to apply for scholarships via the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Graduate Scholarship Application.


In order to be eligible for some need-based Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry scholarships, eligible students must complete and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).


In order to be eligible for some Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry scholarships, students must be enrolled full-time. The University of Oklahoma classifies full-time enrollment as…

  • Graduate students enrolled in 9 credit hours, or 5 credit hours and have a .5 appointment as a GA or TA.
